The Cardinal State University basketball team has a decades long tradition of playing the game "the right way." Only problem: they're never very good. Senior Maxfield Chase knows there has to be a better game plan, but he can't quite put his finger on what's missing until an errant pass and a busted nose lead to a chance encounter with team EMT and secret visionary Irene Grinell, who's been using math to crack the code. Irene's complex statistical calculations and strategic analytics boil down to one simple concept: shoot more threes. Now all Max and Irene have to do is convince everyone to follow their plan and change absolutely everything.
